TOPIK II · Listening · Questions 13–16 · Level 3–4

Choose the matching statement

들은 내용과 같은 것 고르기

TOPIK II Listening Q13–16: listen to an everyday dialogue (13), an announcement (14), a news report (15) and an interview (16), then choose the statement that matches. It tests detailed listening: who did what, figures, times and places.

Test tips

  1. Read the four options before listening and underline the subject (남자/여자), numbers, times and negatives – these are what the test changes.
  2. While listening, tick or cross each option instead of trying to remember everything; one wrong detail (number, day, who did it) makes the whole statement wrong.
  3. Common traps: swapping man ↔ woman, rise ↔ fall, past ↔ future, all ↔ some, cancelled ↔ rescheduled, and statements about things never mentioned.
  4. Announcements (14): note times, places and instructions (-기 바랍니다, -아/어 주십시오, 단, 다만). News (15): jot down figures; '-(으)ㄴ 것으로 보고 있다' is only a presumption, not a conclusion.
  5. Interviews (16): the host's question usually summarises the guest's work, and the answer gives details about why they started, how they do it and the results.
  6. The correct option is often a paraphrase (월요일마다 = 일주일에 한 번, 절반 = 50%), so listen for meaning, not just words.

Explanation

For questions 13–16, read the four options first and underline the subject (남자/여자) and the details, then tick or cross each one as you listen. The woman says '일주일에 두 번은 고기 대신 이런 걸 먹고 있어요' – matching option 2. Option 1 is wrong because the man only wants to try buying some ('한번 사 보고 싶은데'). Option 3 is wrong because he says '전혀 몰랐어요'. Option 4 is wrong because it's in the '냉동식품 코너', not the vegetable section. Typical traps swap the speakers or change one small detail.
