Explanation
The main clause happens before the action in the -기 전에 clause. Attaches to verb stems; nouns use N 전에 (식사 전에). No past tense before it.
Examples
자기 전에 이를 닦아요.
I brush my teeth before going to bed.
한국에 오기 전에 한국어를 조금 배웠어요.
I learned a little Korean before coming to Korea.
식사 전에 손을 씻으세요.
