Explanation
Links two closely connected actions where the second builds on the first (가서 만나다, 만들어서 먹다). Both clauses share the subject and no past tense comes before -아서.
Examples
친구 집에 가서 같이 공부했어요.
I went to my friend's house and studied with them.
케이크를 만들어서 동생에게 줬어요.
I made a cake and gave it to my sibling.
의자에 앉아서 기다리세요.
Please sit on the chair and wait.
