A guess based on an observed situation. Present verbs take 는 모양이다, past (으)ㄴ 모양이다, future (으)ㄹ 모양이다; adjectives (으)ㄴ 모양이다. Not about oneself.

People are using umbrellas, so it appears to be raining.
