Final consonants (patchim)
Final consonants and the 7 final sounds
The final consonant (받침, patchim) goes at the bottom of the block: 가 + ㄱ = 각, 바 + ㅂ = 밥.
Many letters can be final, but there are only 7 final sounds: [
Final [ㄱ] [ㄷ] [ㅂ] are not released: for 밥, close your lips and stop.
