Explanation
The speaker recalls something observed earlier, then states a change or result that followed. The subject is usually second or third person and the same in both clauses. Attaches to the stem.
Examples
아침에는 맑더니 오후에 비가 오네요.
It was clear this morning, and now it's raining.
동생이 열심히 공부하더니 장학금을 받았어요.
My sibling studied hard and then won a scholarship.
민수 씨가 아까부터 기침을 하더니 결국 조퇴했어요.
Minsu had been coughing and ended up going home early.
