Indirect quotation of a statement. Verbs take ㄴ다고 (vowel/ㄹ) or 는다고 (consonant); adjectives 다고; nouns (이)라고; past -았/었다고; future -(으)ㄹ 거라고. 하다 can be 말하다, 듣다, 생각하다.
例文
친구가 내일 한국에 온다고 했어요.
My friend said they're coming to Korea tomorrow.
일기 예보에서 오늘 춥다고 했어요.
The forecast said it's cold today.
민수 씨는 자기가 학생이라고 했어요.
Minsu said he is a student.
