Places two different or contrasting cases side by side. Verbs take 는가 하면, adjectives (으)ㄴ가 하면, nouns 인가 하면; past -았/었는가 하면.
Contoh
아침형 인간이 있는가 하면 저녁형 인간도 있다.
Some people are morning types, while others are night owls.
맑은가 하면 금세 비가 내리는 날씨였다.
The weather was clear one moment and raining the next.
찬성하는 사람이 있는가 하면 반대하는 사람도 많다.
Some are in favour, while many are against.
