व्याख्या
Negates an action or a state. 안 goes before the verb (안 가요); -지 않다 attaches to the stem (가지 않아요) and is more formal. With 공부하다 the short form is 공부 안 하다.

저는 술을 안 마셔요.
I don't drink alcohol.
오늘은 춥지 않아요.
It isn't cold today.
어제는 운동 안 했어요.
I didn't exercise yesterday.
