Combined vowels
ㅘ ㅙ ㅚ ㅝ ㅞ ㅟ ㅢ
Combined vowels are ㅗ or ㅜ + another vowel said as one glide: ㅗ + ㅏ = ㅘ (wa), ㅜ + ㅓ = ㅝ (wo).
ㅙ, ㅚ and ㅞ sound almost the same today ('we').
ㅢ: 'ui' at the start of a word (의사); 'i' after a consonant (희망 → 히망); 'e' when it means 'of'.
